Transmedia Narrative Project

Transmedia storytelling is simply telling a grand narrative across multiple modes of information. This project example utilizes The LEGO Movie as a basis for exploring additional user-created narrative elements to enhance this already dynamic and interesting set of worlds that were first created through this movie.

About

The focus of this project is to challenge students to improve their narrative storytelling by utilizing an already established world. The examples in this project scope will be based on the fictitious addition to the movie entitled, The Other LEGO Movie: Bob's Adventure Down Under

Synopsis

Bob is also a construction worker in Bricksburg, just like Emmet from The LEGO Movie. Unlike Emmet, Bob was particularly sarcastic and pessimistic, and he did not like the most famous song of their time, Everything is Awesome. However, Bob was still a hard worker and would always start work earlier than everyone else. Unbeknownst to him, the night that Emmet and Wylstyle discovered the “piece of the resistance” and left to meet the Master Builder’s, they failed to cover up the hole that he originally fell in. Bob also fell in the same hole early that morning and landed in the seemingly empty cave. His adventures began once he started to explore the depths of this mysterious cave…
